Nurture and Encouragement
At Little Roos Nursery & Forest Pre-School, we know that a baby's first experiences away from home are incredibly important. Our baby room is a calm, nurturing space where little ones are surrounded by love, comfort and gentle encouragement as they begin to explore the world around them.
Every baby is unique, so we take the time to get to know each child and their family, following familiar home routines wherever possible. Whether it's feeding times, sleep patterns, comforters or favourite songs, we work closely with parents to ensure each baby feels safe, secure and happy throughout their day.
Our caring team understands that strong, trusting relationships are the foundation of early learning. Through cuddles, conversation, singing, stories and responsive interactions, we help babies build the confidence to explore while forming the secure attachments that support healthy emotional development.
The baby room is thoughtfully designed with cosy spaces and age-appropriate resources that encourage curiosity and sensory exploration. Babies enjoy a variety of experiences including:
Our dedicated sleep area provides a peaceful place for rest, and all nappy changing and personal care routines are carried out with kindness, respect and individual attention.
We know how important it is for parents to feel connected throughout the day, so we provide regular updates about feeds, naps, nappy changes, activities and those special little moments that make you smile. Together, we create a caring partnership that gives your baby the very best start in life.

Curiosity and Discovery
The toddler years are full of wonder, curiosity and discovery. At Little Roos Nursery & Forest Pre-School, we provide a warm, stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, make choices and develop their confidence through a balance of child-led play and carefully planned adult-supported activities.
Every day is filled with opportunities for learning through play, helping children to develop their communication skills, independence, friendships and growing understanding of the world around them. Our experienced team follows each child's interests, gently extending their learning while celebrating every achievement, big or small.
Our toddlers enjoy a wide range of exciting experiences, including:
We believe children learn best when they are active, engaged and having fun. Whether they're climbing over logs, splashing in puddles, creating a masterpiece, or singing with friends, every experience is designed to inspire a love of learning and help each child grow into a happy, confident and capable little learner.
With plenty of time for free play, exploration and outdoor adventures, our toddlers are given the space to develop at their own pace, supported every step of the way by caring adults who know them well.

Preparing for School
At Little Roos Nursery & Forest Pre-School, we know that every child learns at their own pace and in their own unique way. Our role is to nurture their natural curiosity, build their confidence and help them develop a genuine love of learning that will stay with them long after they leave us.
From their very first day, children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, make friends and discover the world around them through play, adventure and hands-on experiences. As they grow and move into our Forest Pre-School, we gently introduce new challenges and opportunities that help them become confident, capable and independent learners.
School readiness isn't about sitting at desks or completing worksheets. It's about developing the skills children need to thrive - listening and communicating, sharing and taking turns, solving problems, managing their feelings, becoming independent, and developing a positive attitude towards learning.
Through exciting indoor activities and daily outdoor adventures, children begin to recognise letters and sounds, explore numbers, enjoy stories, develop early writing skills and discover the joy of learning through play.
Our Forest School experiences help children build resilience, confidence, creativity and teamwork while connecting with nature in every season.
We also enjoy plenty of music, movement, dance, and active play, helping children develop strong bodies, good coordination and healthy habits, while having lots of fun along the way.
We understand that starting school is a big milestone for both children and parents. That's why we work closely with local primary schools to make the transition as smooth and reassuring as possible. By sharing information, encouraging visits where possible and helping children become familiar with what to expect, we ensure they leave Little Roos feeling confident, excited and ready for their next adventure.
